A Green House III
1) The Lighting Technologies
LED’s are the lighting sources on the market. Fluorescent fixtures have been around for some time. Halogen is more efficient than incandescent but they are still considered part of the problem. All of the existing light sources have their good points and bad points. The newer the technology the more adventurous you must be. Take the time to learn what the limitations are so you came make an informed decision. Reading about these light sources is not enough. Go see them in person.
In The End…
A knowledgeable lighting person can walk you through all of your options and can customize a package to suit your needs, budget, and level of adventure. There are many ways to be green and you should always do what is comfortable for you. Take the time to sit down with a professional. It is worth it. Lighting is nothing to breeze over and some states have laws in place restricting what you can and cannot use in some rooms of your house. Know your options. You can make a positive impact if you do your homework. If you just install a CFL that you bought at the grocery store or an LED that you bought at a home center, chances are you will not get positive results.
